An online contest was conducted to name the new transport vehicle. Over 100 votes were cast to
select the winning name. Social media fans chose “Woof Wagon” for the name of the new
Outback that will officially be put into service this week.
The Subaru Loves Pets initiative is dedicated to improving the lives of as many shelter pets as
possible. Subaru of America, Inc. is providing over $3 million in direct financial assistance to
animal shelters nationwide this year as part of this initiative. These funds, administered by the
ASPCA, will help local shelters with costs associated with preparing animals for adoption,
veterinary care, and other essential services.
Subaru of Daytona’s commitment to the Halifax Humane Society goes beyond this donation. The
dealership has long been a dedicated partner to the shelter, helping with adoption events,
fundraising efforts, and advocating for the welfare of animals in Volusia County. “We are proud to
continue our support of the Halifax Humane Society through Subaru Loves Pets,” said Brett
Serbousek, General Manager of Subaru of Daytona. “We believe in the importance of helping
animals find loving homes, and we are thrilled to be able to contribute in such a meaningful way.”
Subaru of Daytona’s donation of a new Subaru vehicle will directly support the Halifax Humane
Society’s mission of rescuing and caring for animals. The car will transport animals to veterinary
appointments, deliver supplies, and support the shelter’s ongoing efforts to find loving homes for
pets in the community.
“We are incredibly grateful to Subaru of Daytona for their continued support,” said Sean Hawkins,
CAWA, CFRE, Chief Executive Officer of the Halifax Humane Society. “This donation is not only a
generous gift to our shelter, but it also helps us extend our reach and care for more animals.
Together with Subaru and the ASPCA, we are making a real difference in the lives of pets and
families in our community.”
The Subaru Loves Pets initiative underscores Subaru’s dedication to helping animals. Retailers
nationwide participate in various efforts to support local shelters and improve the quality of life
for pets awaiting adoption.
