The Halifax Humane Society’s Paws & Pearls Fur Ball dazzled Daytona Beach with a night of glamour, generosity and heart, smashing its ambitious $400,000 fundraising goal and raising a record-breaking $537,501 for animal welfare programs in Volusia County.

Held at the stunning Ocean Center on December 5, the black-tie gala, presented by Subaru of Daytona, united over 600 of the region’s most passionate animal advocates and community leaders for an unforgettable evening. Emmy®-winning television star

Brandon McMillan, famed for CBS’s Lucky Dog, headlined the event, thrilling the audience with tales from both Lucky Dog and his documentary series on Discovery’s Shark Week.

Highlights of the Fur Ball’s Memorable Night:

  • Prestigious Awards: Michele Connors of S.R. Perrott received the coveted Animal Hero Award, and Volusia County’s Sheriff Mike Chitwood presented the K9 Officer of the Year Award to Sr. Deputy Michael Webb and K9 Aiko.
  • Star Power: McMillan captivated attendees with insights from his work helping shelter dogs thrive, drawing parallels to Halifax Humane Society’s mission of hope and healing.
  • Inspiring Leadership: WKMG-TV News 6 Anchor Ginger Gadsden emceed the evening, and WKMG-TV News 6 Journalist Erik Sandoval used his red carpet skills for the feature interview.
