23 Pets Find Loving Homes During Subaru Loves Pets Celebration

Saturday, October 10, was a day worth celebrating at Halifax Humane Society, with 23 pets finding loving homes through adoptions at Subaru of Daytona and at our shelter! Thanks to Subaru of Daytona and the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, every pet adopted that day went home with waived adoption fees.

Our offsite adoption event brought visitors to Subaru of Daytona from 2–5 p.m. to meet dogs looking for loving families. With hot dogs, a face painter, and music, there was plenty to enjoy while getting to know our adoptable companions. The Subaru of Daytona staff welcomed our team and dogs with such kindness, even handing out “Chewbarus” to keep our pups entertained while they waited to meet their potential families.

We are grateful to everyone who spent part of their Saturday with us, whether you came to adopt, meet the dogs, or show your support. A special thank-you also goes to everyone who visited our shelter that day and gave a pet a loving home. Together, you helped turn a busy Saturday into 23 new beginnings.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Subaru of Daytona, Subaru Loves Pets, and the ASPCA for helping make this celebration possible. Through the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, Subaru retailers provide funding to local animal welfare partners through grants administered by the ASPCA, supporting veterinary care and preparing pets for adoption.

Their partnership helps organizations like ours connect animals with the families they deserve.

The event may be over, but Subaru Loves Pets continues throughout October, with National Make A Dog’s Day approaching on October 22. This special day encourages people to celebrate dogs and consider adopting, fostering, or supporting a shelter pet.

What better way to celebrate than by opening your home to an animal in need?

For the pets still waiting at Halifax Humane Society, your visit could be the start of their next chapter. Adoption offers a loving family, while fostering provides care and companionship until a permanent home is found. Both give you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

To our adopters, community supporters, and partners: thank you for making Saturday such a success. We cannot wait to hear how our newly adopted pets are settling in and to help more animals find their own happy beginnings this October.

Better Together.
