Adopt A New Best Friend During National Adoption Week

Adoption Events to Take Place at PetSmart Store, 1900 W. International Speedway, Daytona Beach March 27th, 28th, and 29th

Scores of adoptable pets are longing for people to shower them with love and affection. Halifax Humane Society is proud to partner with PetSmart Charities® to bring adoptable pets from the shelter into PetSmart Store 311, 1900 W. International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114, 9 am to 9 pm Friday and Saturday, and 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday, March 27th – March 29th, in support of National Adoption Week.

During the in-store event, staff and volunteers will be available to help potential pet parents meet and spend time with adoptable pets from Halifax Humane Society, including cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies of all ages, breeds, and temperaments.

“Through our partnership with PetSmart Charities, we’re able to bring adoptable pets directly into the heart of the community and connect them with families ready to open their homes,” said Sean Hawkins, CAWA, CFRE, CEO for Halifax Humane Society. “Together, we’re making it easier for people to choose adoption and helping more pets find safe, loving homes.” Studies show that caring for pets is beneficial to the cognitive, physical and emotional wellness of people. When families share pet caregiving responsibilities, children learn important values such as selflessness, patience and compassion.

“Making room in your heart and home for a pet opens the door for another pet to enter the shelter so you’re really saving two lives,” said Aimee Gilbreath, president of PetSmart Charities. “If you’re looking for a positive way to contribute to your local community and bring new joy to your household, what better time than during National Adoption Week. We’re thankful for the professionals and volunteers at Halifax Humane Society the love and care they give to pets all year long – together we can make a significant impact on people and pets.”
