About This Event

Halifax Humane Society is proud to share that our very own Christel Fleming, Director of Lifesaving Operations, is an instructor for ZooTampa’s Teaching Animals with Science and Empathy Workshop.

Presented in collaboration with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, this advanced, interactive workshop helps participants strengthen their behavior modification skills through hands-on learning in both zoological and shelter environments. Attendees work through real-time training scenarios, case-based problem solving, and individualized coaching while learning to assess behavior, adapt training plans, and apply ethical, science-based techniques across domestic and exotic species.

Christel’s participation reflects Halifax Humane Society’s commitment to advancing compassionate, evidence-based animal care and sharing knowledge that can improve animal welfare across species, organizations, and communities.
