Halifax Humane Society does not directly investigate allegations of Cruelty, these reports must be started with the appropriate agency above.  However, HHS maintains a full spectrum of anti-cruelty services and assist local law enforcement in the enforcement and investigation of cases.  This includes veterinary forensic analysis, care of mistreated animals, an anti-hoarding Task Force, cruelty tip rewards, education, legislative advocacy and other forms of supplemental assistance.  HHS maintains a veterinarian trained in forensics and often works with specialist to insure that cruelty cases are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
