Birthdays at HHS are a wagging good time!

Spend your child's special day at Halifax Humane Society (HHS). Everyone at the party will get a chance to meet and greet some of our extraordinary shelter animals, including how they are cared for and how we work hard to find them homes.

Party program

How it works-

• Birthday parties are for children ages 5-13
• Exclusive use of our education room for two hours (11 am to 1 pm recommended). Party parent(s) can arrive as early as 10:00 am to decorate.
• Available on Saturdays or Sundays
• A shelter tour
• A safe supervised opportunity to interact with HHS animals
• All guests will enter the party using the Education Room entrance located on the east side of the main facility between the adoption lobby and the admissions lobby.

 

Guestlist

• The standard birthday program accommodates up to 16 kids, including birthday child and siblings. 

 

What to bring?

• A birthday cake, knife to cut the cake, spatula to serve
• Drinks, food, and/or snacks for your guests (pizza is usually the easiest)
• Utensils, paper plates, napkins, other serving utensils, cups for drinks, etc.
• Gifts (time is set aside for gift opening), decorations, etc.
• Donations for the animals!

HHS facilities are peanut allergy safe, so please leave any peanuts or nut-related products at home.

 

Book Your Party

It is important to book your party at least 6-8 weeks in advance, as our schedule fills up very quickly. All details must be completed and confirmed at least one week before your party, so make sure you book several weeks in advance to avoid last-minute preparations.

We require a room deposit of $75.00. If the room is not cleaned and put back to the original status it was when received, the deposit will not be returned. Please clean the room, remove all decorations, and place all tables and chairs back to their original positions.

There is a $100.00 donation required for the use of the room and services of HHS staff.
