Mutt Strutt 2018 Raises Over $50,000 for our Community's Animals

The 2018 Mutt Strutt event held on April 28th from 8:00 am to noon at the Daytona Beach Band Shell, was a major success. With an estimated 1500 people in attendance and about 700 dogs (and 1 pig), the 5K Fun Run began promptly at 9:00 am. Grand Marshall Representative Tom Leek led the participants to the starting line on the beach and proudly announced, "Doggies, start your engines!"

After the race, Daytona Police Officer Kera Cantral, now the owner of River, the puppy that was thrown into the  river on one of the coldest days of the year. River was brought to HHS to be saved and Officer Cantral ended up adopting her after her rehab. Officer Cantral presented the awards for Best Time- Male, Best Time- Female and Last Place.

The entertainment for the day was Greye. What a great band! We hope to have them support our future events because the people loved them.
