Halifax Humane Society (HHS), an award-winning animal shelter located in Daytona Beach, Florida is seeking a talented Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to advance the good work of their shelter and animal programs. This is a great career opportunity to live, play and work by the beach in a recently renovated state-of-the-art facility.

Leading both the Financial and Operations Divisions, the candidate will need a strong appreciation of science-based initiatives to develop, implement and oversee progress in HHS’s climbing live release rates (90%+), fundraising, public services, and other programmatic offerings.

Halifax Humane Society, a 501(c)3 private non-profit, services over 25,000 animals in the Greater Daytona Beach area through its thirty-eight comprehensive programs. The Organization is comprised of 3 separate locations: Main Shelter Campus (including a public Dog Park/Boarding/Grooming facility), a Mission-Based Thrift Store, and a public S/N clinic.

The hard work taking place at HHS has been the subject of much acclaim across the animal welfare world. Its new facility was the result of a Capital Campaign titled “Reimagining the Future of our Community’s Animals”.  The concept successfully brings accessibility to HHS’s award-winning programs through the entire spectrum of the human-animal bond. HHS’s slogan is “more than a shelter”. The new CEO will need to embrace this concept while bringing accessibility to HHS’s programs and services to the Volusia County region and beyond.

HHS offers starting salary commensurate with experience, professional development, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave as well as retirement +match, health (90% company-paid) vision, and dental plans. This position is eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (under this program, you may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance due on your Federal Loan Program).

4+ years experience as an Executive Director or C-Level Staff member at an animal shelter required.  Bachelor’s Degree and PetPoint Software experience is preferred. Master’s Degree desirable.
