Leadership and Career Development

Career Development-

The Halifax Humane Society offers is constantly expanding and growing to better service the homeless and less fortunate animals in our area. With growth, comes the need for more staff and more volunteers. We take pride in knowing our staff can advance into other positions including management once they have been properly trained.

Our volunteers can take no-cost classes to learn all about how HHS operates. Our class curriculum begins with introductory classes in our 100 series. These classes include Orientation, Dog Walking, Cat Socialization, and Customer Service. All of these classes are required to work at a volunteer at our events. We also have level 200 classes that allow our volunteers to get even more involved. Classes such as Special Events Training, Redinger Clinic Training, Thrift Store Training, Boarding and Grooming Training, Animal Behavioral Training (MYM assessments) and more.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or in taking classes and would like to find out more about each individual class, contact the Volunteer Manager at volunteermanager@halifaxhumanesociety.org
