Adoption Fees:
All dog and cat adoptions are $70. The adoption fee includes:
- Spay or neuter surgery.
- All vaccines including rabbies.
- Microchip, registration and ID tag.
-Free health check from chosen veterinarian.

MEET YOUR MATCH
Canine-ality Adoption Program
Halifax Humane Society is proud to announce it's participation in an innovative new adoption program. Designed by the ASPCA, this fresh new approach will help potential adopters find a new companion that is a match for their lifestyle.
This unique program is comprised of two components:
Part I
In addition to our standard health and aggression evaluation of animals, all adult dogs (a puppy’s behavior is not developed enough to evaluate yet) will now receive a list of behavior assessments to better classify what personality type they fall under. There will be three basic behavior classifications assigned using bold bright colors.
Part 2
The new "Dog Adopter Survey" will be given to potential adopters with easy questions geared to make people think in terms of what type of lifestyle they live. Are they an active family on the go all of the time or are they homebodies. After scoring their survey, a color card is given to them to carry out into the kennels for an easy match with the color cards of the dogs that best match their expectations of a companion animal.
Now…put Part 1 and Part 2 together and the result is a much more informed decision-making process. Better matches make for better lifetime bonds and we all love a happy ending!

From the north:
Take I-95 south to exit 265 (LPGA Blvd.)
Turn right at the end of the exit
Take the first right to HHS
From the South:
Take I-95 north to exit 265 (LPGA Blvd.)
Turn left at the end of the exit
Take the first right to HHS
From the West:
Take I-4 to 92 (International Speedway Blvd.)
Turn left onto LPGA Blvd. for about 5 miles
Turn left just before the I-95 overpass to HHS
